About
Laura Martocci, Ph.D., author of Bullying: The Social Destruction of Self (Temple University Press, 2015), is a national consultant on bullying, and the various social issues associated with it.
A former Associate Dean and Faculty member (Department of Sociology) at Wagner College, Martocci writes a featured blog on bullying for Psychology Today.
Her first volume in her series of workbooks for Adults, "My Bullied Past: WHY does it Still Hurt" was released in the spring of 2017. Martocci currently offers workshops on social aggression and consults on / helps design Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs for schools and businesses.
I began working on issues of bullying as a National Trainer with the Ophelia Project in 2001, and have worked intensively in schools in the New York area since that time.
In 2007 I introduced the S.A.R.A. program (Students Against Relational Aggression), a 12-week anti-bullying initiative geared toward 4th grade classrooms. Delivered by college students enrolled in a class on Social Aggression, the S.A.R.A.program gives students a survival kit for middle school, as well as the means to support victims without drawing attention to themselves. Colleges may license this intervention as part of their Leadership and Service Learning initiatives (Elementary schools can petition their local colleges to offer the prorgram).
For the past several years, I have consulted on, developed, and helped digitize Social Emotional Learning programs (SEL), including the "Social BlackBelt" (backed by the NFL alumni association) and the "At-Risk-Youth" initiative for the NY Open Center. This latter project is aimed at first-time offenders and young people who are struggling to change, offering them the emotional skill sets necessary to making different choices in life.
Coming Soon: "SHATTERED"
(see our Workshops and Programs page)
Due to the Co-Vid 19 pandemic, all on-site group workshops, lectures, and consultation on action plans listed on our Workshops and Program page have been suspended
